FS Bioenergia is Brazil’s pioneer and largest producer of corn ethanol —
founded in 2016 as a joint venture between Brazilian agribusiness Fiagril
(Tapajós Participações) and Summit Agricultural Group, a diversified
farming and agricultural investment company headquartered in Alden, Iowa.
The company began operations in 2017 with the first large-scale,
corn-only ethanol plant ever built in Brazil, introducing a technology
platform proven across decades of North American corn ethanol production
to a new agricultural frontier in Mato Grosso.
FS transforms corn into ethanol, animal nutrition products (DDG — Dried
Distillers Grains), corn oil and electricity, operating a fully
integrated, circular production model. With three advanced manufacturing
units in Mato Grosso, the company has grown into one of Brazil’s leading
bioenergy and agribusiness players, combining Iowa-rooted engineering
expertise with Brazilian agricultural scale.
